An offshore Windchill team for an automotive supplier

A dedicated team in Morocco took over the Windchill backlog, the release pipeline and second-line support, working in the customer's hours and tools.

The starting point

The customer’s PLM team had a two-year backlog of Windchill changes and two internal developers who spent most of their time on support. Releases happened four times a year, each one a weekend of manual steps.

What we set up

  • A dedicated team of four developers, a platform engineer and a consultant in Morocco, working in the customer’s sprints, boards and chat channels.
  • Version control for every customization, with code review and an automated build.
  • A pipeline that deploys to test on every change and to production on approval.
  • A support rota covering the customer’s working hours, with the internal developers as escalation.

Results

Small changes now reach production in less than a day. Releases moved from quarterly weekends to every two weeks during working hours, and the internal team spends its time on design decisions instead of tickets.
